Overview of Family Court for Service Providers

New protections are now available in Family Court for young victims of domestic violence / dating abuse! Obtaining an order of protection (restraining order) is now a much simpler process. Day One has produced two fliers (one geared toward youth and one geared toward service providers) describing this new law and the rights of young victims who can now file for civil protective orders. Our goal is to raise awareness about the new law among both youth and professionals, so it might be a good idea to post the flyer in a common space.

The New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault partnered with Voces Latinas to add a SAY SO! component to their annual Latino HIV Testing Health Fair on Saturday, June 27th at Roosevelt Avenue and 83rd Street in Jackson Heights, Queens.

This outdoor event was a Health Fair set up to provide resources and information regarding the specialized, confidential, and free sexual assault treatment and safer sex as well as free HIV testing and the opportunity for survivors to share their stories of healing, and recovery.
