St.Vincent's Hospital Rape Crisis Program: Free Acupuncture Clinic for Survivors & Their Allies

ARCHIVED EVENT - Originally listed: April 27, 2009

St. Vincent's Rape Crisis Program has an ongoing weekly acupuncture clinic for adult survivors of rape, sexual assault, incest &/or childhood sexual assault and their allies (Allies include supportive family or friends, staff and volunteers in programs providing services to survivors and/or anyone working to end sexual violence).

The clinic is on Tuesday evenings, 6:15pm - 7:15pm
(please arrive by 6pm)

The clinic is a group session of Auricular acupuncture. Auricular acupuncture is a procedure in which disposable stainless steel needles are inserted at specific points on the ear or small organic seeds are placed with adhesive at ear points. Both acupuncture methods have a balancing effect on the body and help with stress.

Free full-body acupuncture treatments are available to survivors by appointment on Tuesday afternoons (please call to get on the waiting list).

These free acupuncture sessions are sponsored by the St. Vincent’s Hospital Rape Crisis Program with a generous grant from the St. Vincent’s Auxiliary and by the Tri-State College of Acupuncture and acupuncturist, Nona Upshaw, LAC.
