Voces Latinas:Case Worker/Outreach for Community Mobilization

Description:

• Conduct HIV testing and counseling
• Escort clients to medical appointments as needed
• Conduct street and organizational outreach during day and evening hours
• Work closely with Coordinator in the recruitment of non-traditional venues
• Assist Coordinator and Outreach Specialist in venue trainings
• Provide presentations in the community
• Assist Coordinator with the Promotoras program
• Conduct intake/assessments for high risk immigrant Latinas/os
• Open cases for violence against women and HIV positive immigrant Latinos
• Develop and maintain relationships with social service providers
• Conduct follow up services with clients
• Represent Voces Latinas in community network meetings
• Link clients to HIV care and treatment
• Other duties as assigned

• A.A. or B.A. in social services or public health related degree and/or 3 years of experience in related work
• Experience in HIV testing and counseling
• Sensitivity to and experience with needs and circumstances of people with HIV
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Well organized and attentive to detail
• Ability to work independently and as a team
• Cultural sensitivity and awareness
• Receptive to constructive feedback
• Flexible with work schedule
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• Willing to learn and be flexible
• Experience with Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Preferred
• Bilingual (Spanish and English) A MUST
