Newsletter: January 2004: Alliance Announcements

The Alliance thanks State Senator Tom Duane for his generous donation, and commends his office for maintaining a commitment to fighting sexual violence. This is the second year that Senator Duane has contributed to the Alliance’s work.

The City Council, along with the Manhattan Delegation and Council Member Chris Quinn, awarded increased funding to the Alliance this year. We appreciate their continued support for our work.

Board Member Karen Seales is the Program Coordinator for the newly created Violence Intervention and Treatment Program at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center. Congratulations, Karen.

Suzanne Towns, Director of the Forensic Healthcare Program leaves the Alliance. Under her management, the FHP was successful in gaining the support and allegiance of major stakeholders in the criminal justice and medical treatment communities. Suzanne will be greatly missed by the staff and all of her colleagues in the field. We wish her the best of luck in her new endeavors.
