Newsletter: Spring 2009: Community NewsSafe Horizon Creates Rape Crisis Program In BrooklynThe Alliance applauds the fact that as a result of funding from the New York State Crime Victims Board, counseling and advocacy services to rape and sexual abuse survivors will continue in downtown Brooklyn despite the demise of the Long Island College Hospital Rape Crisis Intervention Program. Safe Horizon has created the Brooklyn Rape and Sexual Assault Program for rape and sexual abuse survivors and others impacted by the crime. For more information, contact the Program at 718.834.6688.Further efforts are needed to ensure that Brooklyn residents have adequate SAFE services in local Emergency Departments and the Alliance will continue work in that area.
