Populations Served:

PARTNERS (Preventing Adverse Reactions to Negative Events and Related Stress) serves youth ages 4-17 and their families who have experienced emotional stress from trauma and bereavement such as family violence, sexual assault and disasters. These youth may be experiencing posttraumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, and/or aggression.

Free.

Our Mission:

To research and provide state-of-the-art evidence-based mental health services to families and communities with children and adolescents who have been through emotional stress from trauma and bereavement, such as family violence, sexual assault and disasters
To train professionals on the design, evaluation, and provision of such services.

PARTNERS fulfills this mission through creatively and sensitively integrating scientific findings and real world practice. What we learn is disseminated throughout Queens, New York State, and beyond.

Our Goals:

PARTNERS has four main goals which are interconnected through our model of care:

Provide state-of-the-art clinical services
Train mental health, child welfare, medical, and educational professionals
Adapt and promote mental health services with various communities and cultures
Conduct innovative and clinically-meaningful research
