Project ENVISION Update : Phases of Primary Prevention Turning Research into Action in Phase III

The three communities of Project ENVISION (Lower East Side, Manhattan; South Bronx and Williamsburg, Brooklyn) have successfully completed the second phase of the project�the research-based community needs assessments. Unlike other sexual violence prevention initiatives, Project ENVISION demonstrates a unique and groundbreaking approach that strives to incorporate the perspectives and experiences of community members into prevention programming. Populations served:

Any person between the ages of 12 and 21 can become a member.

Fees for services:

The Door does not present financial barriers to service.

Medical Services:

Primary and reproductive health care, birth control, free condoms, gynecological exams, dental care, emergency contraception (the morning after pill), walk-in pregnancy and HIV tests.

Advocacy:

Legal services, criminal justice, immigration.

Counseling:

Individual and group counseling sessions, crisis assistance.

Other Services:

Career training, job placement.

Educational / Training Services:

Extensive education programming, GED, English language classes.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Extension 3261 for volunteer opportunities

Special Considerations:

All services are confidential.
